Double Edit

Double processing comes in handy if you have only one raw file of a particular scene. Check out my "Tutorials" tab for how this can be done. Below is a comparison of the original raw file and the double processed file. The only thing done to the original raw file as it is presented here is profile corrections. At the bottom of the page the two Lightroom prepared files and the Photoshop layers palette. The master file was loaded back into Lightroom for fine tuning.

The hill on the right side was a bit dark so I lightened it slightly
Basic mid-tones is a Tony Kuyper action. Lightened up the sky
High value of the High Pass filter masked into the sky to add texture and contrast

Sharpening - took down the opacity to around 70
Sharpening (see sharpening tutorial on Vibrantshot.com)
Efex: Tonal contrast/pro contrast/Darken-Lighten center

Curves 2: Took down the blue channel to remove blue color casts
Added some orange to some clouds to the left
Dodging for the clouds and the ice and the island
Burning for the ice

Saturation: Red color casts across the hills - masked out
Levels1: Lightened the hill on the right side - see mask - super dark lum mask for targeting
Curves 1: S-curve - mostly lightening

I love Topaz Clarity - it always gives me a good starting point
