This is a re-edit of an image from Sept last fall. Again, the shift of light was so sudden and swift, and the colors so dense and saturated that I was totally amazed. The post processing steps for those interested:
- Three images -2,0,+2 blended in Ps with the help of luminosity masks
- Topaz clarity - one of the landscape presets
- Ps - A saturation layer, general saturation increase, but took down the blues
- Color Efex Pro (tonal contrast, detail extractor, pro contrast)
- Levels adjustment with a luminosity mask to increase the lights on the trees
- Dodging and burning layers - to further bring out the trees and for giving an impression of the direction of the light. One side of the boat was also dodged.
- Selective color layer for the whites
- Basic mid tones curve adjustment (Tony Kuyper action)
- Sharpen layer - High Pass 0.8 Blend mode: Vivid light
- Sharpen layer - High Pass 8.0 Soft Light
- Warped the boat
- Lightroom: Fine tuning.
The image made it to 500px's front page.
